I've been shooting still photographs for an independent feature being shot outside of DC... been getting some great shots just of the cast and crew, and thought I'd share a couple of them. Headed back there later this week to shoot some more and deprive myself of sleep for several days.

Goodbye, Mamiya 7. Hello, 5D.

So, after taking the photo on the right, my camera broke. Stopped winding, mid-roll, leaving me speechless in my friend's backyard in New Hampshire on the first day of my trip. It is en-route to repair, but meanwhile I finally have moved digital, purchasing a 5D of my very own and have already done several shoots, one of which being for the New York Times. Mom and Dad have never been so proud.

The Rockaways

Went to the Rockaways with a friend of mine last week to take some photos... we're going to try and go to some part of New York we haven't been to once a week to take pictures, although sadly this weekend my Mamiya 7 broke, which is what I shoot most of that stuff with. I'm going to try and get it repaired this week, although it's not going to be the same shooting digital in the meantime!

Alpha... and a test shoot

On the left we have a shot I did for Alpha magazine this winter. We were first informed we could not shoot in his office, so we set up in the lobby for two different shots. When he was ready to be photographed, we were then informed that he only would be shot in his office. I think this is officially the fastest I have ever set up a picture, luckily the office was a pretty good location and I think the shoot went well!

The shot on the right is a test I did with photographer Shannon Roddy in her killer apartment.. she's standing in front of a huge brick wall that says "storage for pianos", which leads me to believe that the building, once, was used for storage for pianos.

I took these photos a while ago and recently rescanned them (the files were lost).. The house I grew up in burned down about a year after my parents moved out, and I went back to document it.

Super Tuesday

I went out and took some pictures on Super Tuesday near a voting location in the Upper East Side in Manhattan. I was on the corner for quite some time and it was very interesting to see the mix of people that went by!
